"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life." - 1 John 5:11-12
Testimony
A testimony is a spoken or written statement that something is true, normally by a witness. Jesus mentioned there were four witnesses that testifed he had been sent by His Father. John the Baptist, Jesus' own works, God the Father, and the Scriptures. (John 5: 31-45) They all testify or point to the fact that Jesus is God's Son. John 1:29-34 contains John's testimony. Matthew 3:17 contains the testimony of God the Father.
Everyone who has given their life to Jesus has a testimony; a story that bears witness to Him having been sent by His Father to rescue the world. It's more than just our account of how we came to know Christ, but also why we choose to continue following Him.
